Legendary Quality

Kaemark Craftsmanship

Kaemark is located in Giddings, TX, a small farming and ranching town comprised of 4,500 people; a community with old fashion values, and a strong work ethic. The average tenure of a Kaemark artisan employed by Kaemark is now 25+ years.  Since the purchase by the Owen's in 2000 employment has nearly tripled with minimal turnover. Result? Each quality chair and cabinet you purchase benefits from over 100 years of hands-on craftsmanship by artisans who care.
Kaemark utilizes the finest quality of materials... high-grade industrial strength cabinetry materials, such as piano hinges and steel drawer glides. Our chairs are made of 7-ply board where most manufacturers use 5-ply, high-density foam and the heaviest steel gauge base for guaranteeing years of comfort and un-matched durability.

Our Kaemark professionals take great pride in the quality design and outstanding craftsmanship found produced in each piece of equipment. To become emotionalized by the best-valued, not least expensive, salon furnishings click here for the Kaemark Distributor showroom closest to you.

UL and UPC Listed

UL Listed

As a consumer, what does the UL Mark mean to me?
Kaemark is proud to have all of their items UL Listed. This assures the consumer that all local electrical specs are met, therefore saving time and confusion when it comes to having your electrical inspection done before opening. Kaemark has the only UL Listed vented nail table found in today's market.

Who is behind the Mark?
The UL Mark stands for Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that was formed in 1894 to help reduce injury, loss of life and property damage. To that end, UL scientifically investigates and tests thousands of types of products, materials, constructions and systems to evaluate electric, fire and casualty hazards; burglar resistance; or ability to detect, control or limit fires. Behind the UL Mark is a staff of more than 5,000 engineers, scientists, chemists, technicians, field representatives and support staff -- a team dedicated to working for a safer world.

Why is the UL Mark so important?
Third-party product safety certification is important. An independent, technically expert organization that doesn't have a financial interest in the product's ultimate profitability is needed to determine whether reasonably foreseeable risks associated with the product's use have been eliminated or minimized. UL's not-for-profit, independent status allow it to be unbiased in determining whether or not a product meets recognized safety standards.

What happens after a product gets the UL Mark?
Once the product earns the UL Mark, UL doesn't forget about it. UL field representatives located worldwide make periodic, unannounced visits to each manufacturer's production facility to help countercheck that products continue to meet UL requirements. Even after the initial product evaluation, UL checks samples of the product again and again. A product must continue to meet safety requirements in order to bear the UL Mark. If a field representative determines that a product no longer complies, the UL Mark is removed. This Follow-Up Services program helps protect the integrity of the UL Mark. In fact, this rigorous follow-up program is part of what makes UL so unique.

UPC Importance

UPC stands for Uniform Plumbing Code which is administered by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials since 1926
Just how important is it that your salon equipment be UPC listed? In most cities in the USA, a Certificate of Occupancy is unobtainable without being UPC listed. Ask your local licensed plumber.

GREEN PRODUCTS
Our wood materials are certified by the Composite Panel Association (CPA) Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) Grademark Program which was developed to provide independent certification of wood composite products that are demonstrably environmentally preferable through their use of recycled and /or recovered wood fiber and adherence to voluntarily lower formaldehyde emission standards than government regulations. In addition, our wood has been evaluated by CPA for compliance with California (CARB) Phase 1 Air Resources Board Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) 93100 and are in compliance.

Our laminate materials have been awarded by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute - the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification and GREENGUARD Certified for Children & Schools Certification. The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Program for low-emitting products, including the establishment of acceptable standards for interior products and testing protocols to improve public health and quality of life.

Our PVA adhesives are water-based, non-flammable, and non-chlorinated. They meet the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED requirements for Low-Emitting Materials (Version 2.2, EQ Credits 4.1 and 4.4).

Our packaging is made of recycled materials.

We've also partnered with suppliers of green materials and have additional product components that are also available upon request.

Green Manufacturing Facility & Process

Our manufacturing facility power usage is reviewed and monitored hour by hour by our electric coop with recommendations to reduce power consumption.

We updated all lighting in our manufacturing plant to high efficiency T5 Highbay Fluorescent Fixtures which use approx. 1/5 of the power over traditional fluorescent fixtures.

Over the last 3-4 years we have spent well over $1M in computer-controlled machines and equipment reducing wood waste and compacting and grinding equipment to reduce the volume that does enter the landfill.

We have instated a strategy for materials that we (1st) reuse and then (2nd) recycle all metals, waste cardboard, pallets, plastic, etc.

We have Increased the amount of electronic communication (IE. all distributors now receive electronic order confirmations and invoices vs paper copies in the mail).

Also, by using the internet as a source to reach potential customers through our online catalogs at kaemark.com, we have significantly cut down on the number of catalogs that we print each year by 33%.
